If the range of the coordinate transformation (, ) = (−2,−3 +1) is (4, −2), (2, −5), (−6, 4), what is the domain?
Alex17521 [72]

Consider the below figure attached with this question.

Given:

The transformation is:

f(x,y)=(-2x,-3y+1)

The range is (4,-2), (2, −5), (−6, 4).

To find:

The domain of the transformation.

Solution:

We have,

f(x,y)=(-2x,-3y+1)

For the point (4,-2),

(-2x,-3y+1)=(4,-2)

On comparing both sides, we get

-2x=4

x=\dfrac{4}{-2}

x=-2

And,

-3y+1=-2

-3y=-2-1

-3y=-3

y=\dfrac{-3}{-3}

y=1

So, the domain of (4,-2) is (-2,1).

Similarly,

For the point (2,-5),

(-2x,-3y+1)=(2,-5)

On comparing both sides, we get x=-1,y=2. So, the domain of (2,-5) is (-1,2).

For the point (-6,4),

(-2x,-3y+1)=(-6,4)

On comparing both sides, we get x=3,y=-1. So, the domain of (-6,4) is (3,-1).

So, the domain of the given transformation is (-2, 1), (-1, 2), (3, -1).

Therefore, the correct option is A.

What is y equal to when x= -2

Y=-x+4
Alex17521 [72]

Y= -2+4

If X equals -2, you want to plug -2 in for X.

I hope I helped!

A swimming pool, in the shape of a rectangular prism, is 50 meters long, 25 meters wide, and 3 meters deep. A liter is the same
Vera_Pavlovna [14]
To find liters from meters, multiply the meters by 1000. 1 meter equals 1000 liters. So, the answer would be 375000 from 3,750.

P.S. IF you meant 750, then it's 750000

Lena found a 5/8
DENIUS [597]

Answer:

Naomi had the correct measurement the ring weighed 0.625 carats

Step-by-step explanation:

* The diamond ring weighed 5/8 carats

- To know who is right lets change the fraction 5/8 to a decimal number

∵ 5/8 means 5 ÷ 8

- 5 is smaller than 8 so we will multiply it by 10 and

insert decimal point in the quotient (answer of division)

∴ It will be 50 ÷ 8 = 6 and remainder 2/8 ⇒ 1/4

∴ The quotient = 0.6 and remainder 1/4

- 1 is smaller than 4 so we will multiply it by 10

∴ It will be 10 ÷ 4 = 2 and remainder 2/4 ⇒ 1/2

∴ The quotient = 0.62 and remainder 1/2

- 1 is smaller than 2 so we will multiply it by 10

∴ It will be 10 ÷ 2 = 5 without remainder

∴ The quotient = 0.625

* Naomi had the correct measurement the ring weighed 0.625 carats
