When Things Fall Apart, there might seem to be no other option as at what to do to remedy the situation,  but looking deep there is always light even at the end of a tunnel.

The tradition has it that Okonkwo should sacrifice Ikemefuna, but Ikem has known him to be his father even when he is not the biological father. He should have called him inside and explain the situation at hand, then plan against the traditional decision by telling Ikem to either elope to a far village. This would have kept the family in more peace.
