The correct answer is D. That they would not accept the tax from the king

Explanation:

The Boston Tea Party occurred on December 16 of 1773 in Boston as a shipment of te that had been sent by East India Company was destroyed. This was mainly caused by the Tea Act in which the King and Parliament of Great Britain took actions to support the East India Company and reduce taxes for this company while imposing high taxes for citizens in the colonies related to tea and other important products. This implies the Boston Tea Party was a clear demonstration that people opposed the taxation ruled by the king or "that they would not accept the tax from the king".

They would not accept the tax from the king.

The Boston tea party was a boycott or a rebellion against the tea act put in place by king George. The colonists were so angry about it because they could only get English tea and all shop owners could only sell that particular English tea. Tea act was put into play because the sugar and stamp act failed, to pay for the debts of the French and Indian war.

hope this helped :)
