Answer:

The best option is C) by clearly explaining the reasons for the misleading alarm and its impact.

Explanation:

This excerpt of "The Great Fire" has a cause-and-effect structure which helps readers understand why there was an ineffective response by firefighters. We are told that one man, Schaffer, made the first mistake by striking a different box than would be best. He, however, realized that was not the proper one, and finally ordered box 319 to be struck. The second mistake, then, comes from Schaffer's assistant, William. He chooses not to do as he is told, even though the order came from his superior. His arrogance confuses firefighters, since he strikes the wrong box. The consequence was that the fire was not properly fought, burning on for several deadly minutes since companies didn't know what to do.

Please Tell me what you think about my essay, please be honest, i really need a good grade on this!
Tamiku [17]

Answer:

I think it is great! I like how you used transitional words. I liked that you used evidence. But you need a claim. Like : I plan to prove that video games are harmful to American people. Or something like that. You have a counterclaim which is good but no claim. You also need a thesis. I will give you an outline and see if your essay fits into it. It is what my English teacher gave me to use. You can use it or you don't have to, but I would ask your teacher if you could use it just to be sure.

Explanation:

Good luck!!

mproving Idea Development

Is there a clear claim?

Are examples and explanations used to prove the claim?

Is the main point of each paragraph clear?

Is each point adequately explained and supported with details from the text of the play?

Is each paragraph clearly related to the main idea?

Is there enough information to support the claim?

Are the counterclaims clear and logical?

Does the essay effectively refute each counterclaim?

Enhancing Organization

Is there a clear and purposeful organizational pattern?

Does each paragraph connect logically to the previous one?

Do transitions connect ideas within and between paragraphs?

Refining Word Choice

Are the words clear and precise?

Is the tone consistent?

Improving Sentence Variety

Are the sentences clear and direct?

Are quotations introduced?

Do any sentences have to be reread to make sense of them?

Are the sentences varied in length?

Are sentence beginnings varied?

Could any short sentences be improved by combining them?

Could any long sentences be made more concise?

What is ironic that Billy finally has on him after the bombing that he didn’t have earlier in the war?
BabaBlast [244]

That Billy finally has a gun on him after the bombing that he didn’t have earlier in the war is ironic. Hence, the correct answer is option C. a gun.

What is an irony?

An irony is a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often wryly amusing as a result. An irony is also a literary device, originally used in Greek tragedy, through which the essence of a character's words or actions is clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character.

Therefore, the fact that Billy finally has a gun on him after the bombing that he didn’t have earlier in the war is ironic for it was of no use anymore as at the time he has it.
