<u>Supporting paragraphs</u> are made up of several sentences that illustrate or provide evidence to the main idea the the essay. Each supporting paragraph has a <u>topic sentence</u> that relates to the main idea of the text and is usually included at the begining of a the paragraph. Therefore, the begining of each supporting paragraph cannot be vague and should be directly related to the ideas developed in the text.
