d Tenzing Norgay climbed Mount Everest together. How does Norgay contribute to the success of the climb? He belays Hillary with rope support up the mountain which reduces the risk of Hillary from falling. When Hillary has trouble breathing, Norgay finds and clears the ice from the outlet tube. He finds the partially-full oxygen bottles which will give them more time to climb. When Hillary slides backward after a thin crust of snow breaks off, Norgay encourages him to continue.
