Well, if a minute is 60 seconds, and she typed 10 words in 15 seconds, we can easily calculate the words per minute. Since 15 * 4 = 60, we need to do the same with 10. Ten * 4 = 40, so she cannot enter the typing contest. I hope this helps you.

There are 60 seconds in a minute.  So first we take 60 and divide it by 15.  That gives us 4.  So there are 4 15 second increments where Pat types 10 words.  So if she types 10 words in 15 seconds, and there are only 4 15 second increments in a full minute, then she can't enter because she can only type 40 words per minute.

Your teacher is choosing 2 students to run an errand for her. There are 12 girls and 10 boys in the class. What is the probabili
Ne4ueva [31]

Answer:

2/7

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 22 (12 + 10) total students in the class. That means that the chance of the first student picked being a girl is 12/22.

Now, we must calculate the chance of the next student to be picked <em>also </em>being a girl - however, there is a trap here! Remember that since a girl has been picked, the total student pool has decreased to 21 and and the total number of girls has decreased to 11. This means the new chance of girl being picked is 11/21.

To find the probability of both these events happening in conjunction, these fractions must be multiplied. 12/22 * 11/21 = 132/462, which simplifies to 2/7.

Which graph represents the sequence: 80, -40, 20
ANEK [815]
<span> 80/-40=-40/20=-2,
the sequence: 80, -40, 20 is a geometric sequence
its general formula is Vn+1 = q Vn, where q= -2,
if we put </span>Vn+1 = f(x)
<span>               Vn = x

so we have f(x)= -2x so the graph that represents the sequence is graph of linear equation

In trapezoid ABCD, AC is a diagonal and ∠ABC≅∠ACD. Find AC if the lengths of the bases BC and AD are 12m and 27m respectively.
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

Length of diagonal is 18 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given in trapezoid ABCD. AC is a diagonal and ∠ABC≅∠ACD. The lengths of the bases BC and AD are 12m and 27m. We have to find the length of AC.

Let the length of diagonal be x m

In ΔABC and ΔACD

∠ABC=∠ACD      (∵Given)

∠ACB=∠CAD      (∵Alternate angles)

By AA similarity theorem, ΔABC~ΔACD

∴ their corresponding sides are proportional

\frac{x}{27}=\frac{12}{x}=\frac{AB}{CD}

Comparing first two, we get

⇒ \frac{x}{27}=\frac{12}{x}

⇒ x^2=27\times 12

⇒ x=\sqrt324=18

hence, the length of diagonal is 18 m
