For x=0:
7+ (-3x^2)
= 7+ (-3*0^2)
= 7+ (-3*0)
= 7+ 0
= 7

The final answer is 7~

G(x) = x2 + 3x - 2, find g(-2) Please Explain
Vlad1618 [11]
G(-2) means "evaluate the equation at -2"; it's asking you to swap out the "x" in the equation and sub in -2.

g(x) = x² + 3x - 2  ... plug in -2
g(-2) = (-2)² + 3(-2) - 2  ... simplify
g(-2) = 4 + (-6) - 2 ... add/subtract
g(-2) = -4

Anybody know the answer?
marysya [2.9K]
I'd start by writing an equation for each of the right triangles. (Pythagorean theorem)

y² + 9² = z²
x² + z² = (4+9)²
4² + y² = x²

we want to find z so combine the equations by substituting the other variables x,y out.

substitute y² for (x² - 4²) in 1st equation.

(x² - 4²) + 9² = z²

now by rearranging the 2nd equation we can substitute x² for (13² - z²)

(13² - z²) - 4² + 9² = z²
169 - z² - 16 + 81 = z²
234 - z² = z²
234 = 2z²
234/2 = z²
117 = z²
√(117) = z
√(9*13) = z
3√(13) = z

Bas_tet [7]
The box she ship in has the volume of 1440 cubic inch. The cookie box is 60 cubic inch, so if you divided 1440 into 60, you would get 24. So. she can fit 24 cookie boxes into the box to be shipped.

A car is traveling in a race. The car went from the initial velocity of 35 m/s to the final velocity of 65m/s in 5 seconds what
artcher [175]

The acceleration is defined as the ratio between the change in velocity and the time elapsed to perform such a change.

These "changes" are indicated with the capital greek letter delta, \Delta, and when you write \Delta x you mean the difference between the finial and the inital values of the variable x:

\Delta x = x_{\text{fin}} - x_{\text{init}}

So, the acceleration is defined as

a = \dfrac{\Delta v}{\Delta t} = \dfrac{v_{\text{fin}} - v_{\text{init}}}{t_{\text{fin}} - t_{\text{init}}}

In this case, the initial velocity is 35, the final velocity is 65. Assuming we start the clock at the beginning of the observation, the inital time is 0 and the final time is 5. So, we have

a = \dfrac{65-35}{5-0} = \dfrac{30}{5} = 6m/s^2
