The Pullman strike ended with a violent confrontation between strikers and federal troops deployed by President Grover in Cleveland. During the confrontation, 34 civilians lost their lives.

The strike brought changes for both parties involved, but  not much positive change was done for the good of either side. Many of the strikers were left without jobs, bringing themselves and their families under worse living conditions than before the strike began, not to mention the huge amount of money lost. The Railroad companies lost $ 80 million in business and an extra $6 million in property damages.
