Remember, in American Sign Language we do not use spoken expressions, but gestures. Therefore, expressions that may involve several words in English language may involve a little visual words.
For example, In spoken English the sentence "The boy washes the dishes" put simply in American Sign Language (ASL) may appear as "Dishes boy washed" or alternatively (less likely) as "Boy washed dishes".
