What is the principal part of walked? base, past, past particle, or present particle

English
1 answer:
Tom [10]3 years ago

Answer:

The correct answer is: past.

Explanation:

Each verb has four principal parts: present, present participle, past, and past participle.

In our case, the present would be: walk, present participle would be: (am, is, are) walking, past would be: walked and past participle would be: (have, has, had) walked.

The principal part, this is, the present is the main form of the verb which can be found in a dictionary. It's actually the base we are using to create other verbal tenses of one verb.

Why is figuring out how to start one of the hardest parts of writing ?
creativ13 [48]

Answer:

because you can't decide on just one topic and if you do you can't decide which approach to introduce it you should use. It's complicated because either you have writer's block, you are the exact opposite and think of anything and everything, or you write something down and come up with something better!!!!!!

igomit [66]
Since Edward has used a descriptive language to draw the attention of audience it is always a way which fuels curiosity and desperation and same happened with the audience of Edward, they got desperate and confused.
Edward has painted the image of God as a ruthless guard who at any time is ready to punish and humanity a bunch of creature whom God does not love as creature but He has the scale of punishment only.

Evaluate the culture presented in the story. What details do you notice that show this story is not taking place in the United S
Viktor [21]

Answer:

Descriptions of the setting, particularly the names of the streets, indicate "Araby" does not take place in the United States.*

*See explanation for a more in-depth answer

Explanation:

There are subtle ‘hints,’ or details, presented throughout the story that show “Araby” is not taking place in the United States. For starters, the story states these two specific street names: “North Richmond Street” and “Buckingham Street.” Now, these are two street names that America does have. There is a Richmond Street located in Palmdale, California and there is a Buckingham Street in Fullerton, California. Based on this information alone one might (unknowingly & incorrectly) assume that the story is taking place in America. However, there is one sentence in the story that reveals this story could not have taken place in the United States. Read the first sentence of “Araby”:

“North Richmond Street, being blind, was a quiet street except at the hour when the Christian Brothers' School set the boys free.”

According to this sentence, there is a Christian Brothers’ School located on North Richmond Street. Only one place in the world has an all boys school located on a street called North Richmond. That place is Dublin, Ireland. Therefore, based on the gathered information, it is safe to say that this story takes place in Dublin, Ireland; not the United States.

FUN FACT:

The Christian Brothers’ School on North Richmond Street changed its name to O’Connell Secondary School.
