Microcytic anemia:

The RBCs are smaller than the normal in case of microcytic anemia. Microcytic anemia is mainly caused due to the lead toxicity in the organism. Iron deficiency in blood and thalassemia are the main consequences of the microcytic anemia. The mean corpuscular hemoglobin value is less than 80 fl in microcytic anemia. The complete blood count can be used to diagnose the microcytic anemia.
