Which of the following were effects of imperialism? Select all that apply!!!!!!!!!!!

History
1 answer:
anzhelika [568]3 years ago
3 0

Options B and C are effects of imperialism. Powerful and large "empires" such as the United States and Europe have controlled and ruled many regions of the world who had then been able to set free from those empires but not completely. The USA has controlled and governed Cuba, Puerto Rico and Guam for many years. Although these countries have declared as independent, the USA still has some economic and political influence over them.

Something very similar happens with Africa. Although Europe governed many regions of Africa, they had declared a different and independent nation.

These two big powers are an example of how imperialism has ruled our world for many years and it has left its roots.

"A ruler makes use of the majority and neglects the minority, and so he does not devote himself to virtue but to law."

1.) What is the meaning of this quote?

This quote philosophies the idea that a ruler of high regard will spend more time connecting and pleasing the majority rather than the minority. As because the majority (self explanatory) makes up the most of the population, it seems more logical to spend time catering to them. The statement "so he does not devote himself to virtue but to law" refers to the same idea, that by reacting to the mass, you are going in a direction that is logical.

2.) Who wrote this quote and what were they like?

The author of this quote is Han Fei, a Chinese philosopher who lived from 280 BC to 233 BC. He is often thought of as the greatest representative of Chinese legalism for his eponymous work the Han Feizi. in which he synthesized the methods of his predecessors to consolidate the core Legalist principles. He was a member of the ruling aristocracy.

3.) Which belief system does this quote belong to and why?

Legalism and moral law

4.) Do you agree or disagree with the message of the quote? (Explain your answer)

I agree strongly with the message in this quote, as it portrays a logical outlook on a rulers stance, and gives them the best chance of success (in theory)

How could these dictators have caused the beginning of World War Il in 1939?
Novay_Z [31]

Answer:

the treaty placed a LOT of blame on Germany.

Explanation:

this made them very angry, and because of the unfairness of it, other countries felt a bit guilty. this let Germany get away with things that normally would NOT be allowed. it established a policy of tolerance. This allowed Germany to gain a LOT of power by doing what they wanted, and by this time, it was difficult to stop them without rocking the boat and creating a second world war.

2. What gave rise to the crusade against drunkenness? What successes and failures resulted from the movement’s efforts?
QveST [7]
In the United States, it was mostly a rise in immigration that led to the call for the prohibition of alcohol, since many people believed that it was making people violent and unappealing. Women were at the forefront of this movement, which succeeded in prohibiting alcohol but failed at actually enforcing this ban, since people continued to drink anyway.
