As per the design of the contrabassoon, a performer has to click on its keys, as they blow air through it to create a striking and loud pitch sound that resonates in the contrabassoon; as a result of the clicking and characteristics that create booming and resounding in the contrabassoon, key clicks is an extended technique that is done quite effectively on it (the contrabassoon).
