Mark each statement if it is a key characteristic of Greek drama and theater. Choose all answers that are correct. Question 5 op
Oliga [24]

The correct answers are:

Greek theaters had a circular or semicircular stage called an orchestra. Indeed, that was the circular space where the chorus sang and danced to provide additional layers of interpretation and emotional intensity to the plays. The orchestra measured roughly 78 feet.

Only men could be actors, even when characters in a play were female. True, although it appears that there were some exclusively female theater festivals where women could attend and watch other women play the parts of a goddess.

Women formed a chorus that sang behind the actors. True but only for dramas where the main character was a woman (Aeschylus, Suppliant Women, Euripides, Bacchae, Euripides, Electra, Euripides, Iphigenia in Tauris).

The Greeks did not want to feel sad at the theater. False. They loved tragedies, and they invented Greek Tragedy for that reason.

why is it important that the constitution allows itself to be amended? what might happen if it didn't allow itself to be changed
galben [10]
Without amendments, we are stuck with what some guys thought would be nice over 200 years ago. A few things we took out of the constitution by amendment: Slaves count as 3/5 of a person. The incoming president must wait five months after being elected to take office. Electoral college for senators (now--can we get rid of it for presidents?) We also filled in holes that were evident in the constitution, and clarified more rights that people have. The Bill of Rights is all amendments--they wanted a working government first before they decided what limits to put on it. Women were allowed to vote. Someone figured out that if a president becomes sick but doesn't die, the government is in limbo, because the VP couldn't just do the President's job until an amendment was passed saying how it would be determined the Pres was too sick to do his job. Allowing amendments allows mistakes made by the writers of the constitution to be corrected, and for changes they didn't forsee to be allowable.
