The Glass Castle is a memoir written by Jeannette Walls in 2005. Jeannette encounters two difficulties at Welch Elementary School. One of them is that the people are close-minded. This is illustrated when she first met the principal, and they cannot understand each other's accent, so he considers she has learning disabilities and sends her to a classroom for slower children. Another difficulty she faces is that her classmates make fun of her. She is a victim of bullying.

Which excerpt is an example of personification? A. “The fog comes on little cat feet.” B. “The world beats like a slackened drum
OverLord2011 [107]
Personification is adding human characteristics to a non-human object.  (D. "The landscape listens, shadows - hold their breath.")  The landscape listening as if it has ears, and shadows holding their breath are things a living thing would do, so (D) is the best answer.

What are the places that shape who you are?
jonny [76]

Answer:

Explanation:

What made you who you are today? It’s a combination of genetics and upbringing right? (Anyone who said ‘star sign’ can leave right now…) And presumably that upbringing was mostly to do with the way your parents and teachers taught you to behave. And possibly a few key life events that helped you to form your opinions and personality…

Well yes, that’s all true, but what you might be surprised about is just how many different things went into forming your personality, and just how sensitive your personality was to change when you were still developing. Read on to be amazed by some of the things that influenced your personality and made you into the person you are now.
