Split the two shapes down the side of the would-be triangle so you end up with:
- A rectangle that's 6 x 3
- A triangle that has a base of 12 and a height of 12

Area of rectangle: b * h
6*3 = *18*

Area for Triangle: 1/2 * b * h
(1/2)(12)(12) = *72*

Add up the two Areas:
18 + 72

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

So we have a rectangle and a triangle.

The height you can find for the triangle is 12ft

And for the rectangle it is 6ft

Formula for area on triangle is 1/2(b*h)

Or for the given picture

A = .5(15 * 12)

= 90ft^2 ( The area of the triangle)

Next for the rectangle

C = length * width

= (3 * 6)

= 18ft^2 (area of rectangle)

Boom that is it no Pi needed

Find the volume of the composite solid. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.
zaharov [31]

Answer:

Volume of solid = 737 cm³ (Approx)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Radius r = 4 cm

Length of cylinder = 12 cm

Find:

Volume of solid

Computation:

Volume of solid = Volume of hemisphere + Volume of cylinder

Volume of solid = (2/3)πr³ + πr²h

Volume of solid = (2/3)π(4)³ + π(4)²(12)

Volume of solid = 134 + 603

Volume of solid = 737 cm³ (Approx)
