Hello,

For your upcoming public speaking competition you could talk about the death penalty, or standardized testing. There are many ways to expand these topics.

Here are some points you could use for standardized tests:

For:
- placement in classes for the next year

Against:
- causes lots of stress for students

These are just some arguments you could talk about. Of course you can expand and provide more reasons. I recommend you to visit a site called
procon.org for they have lots of great topics, with quotes, and reasons, on many different controversial topics to argue about!
