One of the most biggest things that led to the changes in Roman military armor and training techniques was that they were continuously having trouble defending themselves from either side of their bodies.

All the soldiers who were used to be on foot, they used to wore breastplates and helmets They themselves asked the emperor to stop it, setting aside the breastplates and later the helmets. When, because of negligence and laziness, parades were abandoned, all the equipment seemed heavy and useless since the soldiers rarely wore it. .After these events there were many problems and disasters, which led to the loss of great cities, everybody was used to that and didn´t try to solve it, restoring breastplates and helmets to the infantry that was the equipment they had and could guarantee their victories. Unfortunately it happened that the troops in battle, were very exposed to wounds because they have no protecting armor.
