These peasants started to engage in trade. They were named<em> "the bourgeoisie", a middle class that spread along with different European lands, and became proliferous until 1050-1300,</em> The high amount of trade among them turned towns into centres of commerce, and further allowed the creation of "Guild of merchants".

They started to join, to protect and voice their interests eventually causing the overthrow of monarchs which caused a new economic system to arise: mercantilism.
