Answer:

Before WWI the role of a woman was usually to take care of a house and care for children. They werent allowed to have jobs or hold property without having a husband. But when the war came and men were drafted there was a labor shortage so the role for women changed radically as they made up most of the work force.

The role of woman was to take care of the house and children. They also had to have the children and please their husbands. They couldn’t go out and drink, they stayed in the house to sew and cook. They could not vote, go to war, or work jobs. They had little to no rights and had to be completely submissive to their husband.

P. S. I despise what those women had to endure on a daily basis, they were so strong.

When did settlers start to come in the dust bowl
AURORKA [14]

On November 11, 1933, a very strong dust storm stripped topsoil from desiccated South Dakota farmlands in just one of a series of severe dust storms that year. Beginning on May 9, 1934, a strong, two-day dust storm removed massive amounts of Great Plains topsoil in one of the worst such storms of the Dust Bowl.

Who, if any, in JFK's inner circle argued against the plans for the Bay of Pigs invasion?
WINSTONCH [101]
There was only one person by the name of Arthur Schlesinger who wrote a memo against the plans for the Bay of Pigs invasion. Nobody else went against the plans as JFK himself was in favor of the invasion. Arthur Schlesinger wrote the memo but never pushed for the plans to be scuttled. So the invasion went on and met with the failure that was expected. The inner circle of JFK failed in communicating the problems regarding the invasion to JFK and this was a major reason behind this failure. The committee had failed to deliver correctly and this was a case of failed group thinking.

Why is Martin Luther King JR speech from 1963 still important in 2021?
ohaa [14]

Explanation:

The Rev. Dr Martin Luther King as so important because he came to symbolise the Civil Rights movement. He did not invent it, and he was not the only leader in it - but he captured the public imagination more than anyone else. Such things as the “I Have A Dream” speech may have been taken (almost word for word) from other Civil Rights speakers (just as his doctoral thesis was actually the work of another person) - but it was the way he delivered a speech and the time-and-place that was important. In the 1960s if people had heard of only one Civil Rights leader it was Martin Luther King. Without in any way being insulting , he was a “showman” - and it was GOOD that he was a showman. A quiet academic theologian would not have got any public attention or been able to inspire a mass movement.

Yes his private conduct left a lot to be desired (and which of us is without sin?) and his political opinions tended to go into some strange places in the 1960s - but the basic point remains. Was Segregation a great moral evil? Yes it was. Who did more than any other person to campaign against it? To turn the public against it? Martin Luther King was that person.
