A heroic couplet consists of two rhyming lines of verse with five iambic feet.
The word couplet refers to two lines - a couple means two. Iamb means that there are two syllables involved - the first syllable is unstressed, and the second one is stressed. Finally, heroic couplets are written in pentameters, which means they have 5 meters/feet, and each meter has 2 syllables, so there are 10 syllables in total in each line.
An example would be:
Then share thy pain, allow that sad relief;
Ah, more than share it, give me all thy grief

Select the appositive or appositive phrase.
Helga [31]

Answer:

The appositive or appositive phrase is:

"the revered English playwright"

Explanation:

An appositive is a word or phrase placed immediately after a noun with the purpose of renaming it. In other words, appositives offer extra information about the noun they follow. Depending on how essential that information is for the sentence, the appositive may be placed between commas or not.

In the sentence we are analyzing here, the appositive is "the revered English playwright," and it is offering further information about William Shakespeare. It is a nonessential or nonrestrictive appositive, which means it can be removed from the sentence without harm to the meaning being conveyed. Nonrestrictive appositives are placed between commas, as is the case here.

Compare Sarah Palin's view of government involvement in addressing obesity issues with Congressman Tim Huelskamp's view. Use sup
frez [133]
Compare Sarah Palin's view of government involvement in addressing obesity issues with Congressman Tim Huelskamp's view.

Answer: I believe that both of their views are very different and have different targets, on one hand we have Sarah Palin who thinks that the government should not get involved with what kids are eating at all when she directly attacks the“Let's Move” initiative. On the other we have Tim Huelskamp who does not agree with having to limit the amount of calories that kids eat at school. I believe that Tim’s view is right since every kid is different and I really don't think that limiting the amount of food they consume is the right way to handle the obesity problem.

I hope it helps, Regards.
