Answer: the United States has diverse ecosystems consisting of differing biomes and climates. The western United States contains several different mountain chains, with the two main ones being the cascades/sierra nevada chain and the rocky mountains. The region between the two, which contain s states such as nevada and utah, have desert and valley like features. After the Rockies end near colorado, the midwest region is mostly consists of plain like features. The Appalachian mountains are towards the eastern region of the country. Mexico, similar to America, has diverse land feautures. Areas near the atlantic gulf resemble a biome similar to that of a rainforest plain region. How might demography be helpful in planning for the future?
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

A. Demography can help us plan for the needs of our population.

Explanation:

Demography is the statistical study of the population.

It analyzes the size of the population and their various characteristics – education, ethnicity, religion, nationality, places of origin, where they live, how old are they, etc.

With this information, various conclusions about people and their needs can be gathered. For example, we can get how educated the population is, and see if there is a need for better education and more facilities, or we can see if the average population is too old and “dying out” and if there is a need for benefits to the new families, etc.

Therefore, by studying the information gathered with demography, we can learn about the needs of the population and plan changes and policies in order to meet them.

Answer: Volcanoes form at B when the oceanic plate is subducted, and the plate melts and forms magma. This magma rises towards the surface and erupts as lava which forms the volcanoes. It can be found in Pacific Northwest in northern CA, Oregon and Washington. The boundary in B shows converging plate boundary. An oceanic plate collides with a continental plate. The result is the oceanic plate sinks below a deep ocean trench into the mantle. The boundary shown in A is a diverging plate boundary. 2 oceanic plates diverge to form a mid-ocean ridge.

Exceptions to A and B are when volcanoes form at hot spots in the middle of continental or oceanic plates. Magma melts through the crust and moves to the surface in a hot spot. Also a collision between two oceanic plates can form volcanoes. One of the oceanic plate is subducted which melts the plate and the formation of magma which erupts to form a chain of volcanic islands called an island arc.

How do the physical features of North America affect where people live?
Serggg [28]
A physical feature is the mountains, deserts, and lakes. It affects where people live because of the climate, food, and water available. For example, if you live in the mountains, than you must have more snow than someone who lives in the desert. People may not want to live there because of the cold, that is why many people do not live in the mountains.

Hope this helps! :)
