According to science, the fastest speed possible for anything is the speed of light. The speed of light is about 186,000 miles p

er second. That means that in one minute, light travels 11,160,000 miles. The star nearest Earth is the Sun. It's about 93,000,000 miles from Earth. Therefore, it takes sunlight about eight minutes to travel to Earth. So, when you see the Sun, you aren't seeing it as it is. You're seeing it as it was eight minutes ago. Since the stars are much farther away than our Sun, imagine how far back in time you're seeing them! It's obvious that humans will never travel to planets around even the nearest stars. 17. Which statement taken from the paragraph is most likely to be opinion rather than fact? End of exam A. The star nearest Earth is the Sun. B. Humans will never travel to planets around even the nearest stars. C. The fastest speed possible for anything is the speed of light. D. When you see the Sun, you aren't seeing it as it is.

In the text, specific characters serve as an allegory for distractions that one must resist to live a life of faith.
andrey2020 [161]

I believe the correct answer is: “…the two pilgrims

successfully resist Flatterer, who tries to trap them with a net, and Atheist,

who tries to convince them that the Celestial City does not exist.”

In this excerpt from “Pilgrim's Progress” (1678), a

Christian allegory written by John Bunyan, specific characters that serve as an

allegory for distractions that one must resist to live a life of faith are

Flatterer and Atheist which try to divert tempt Christian and Hopeful from the

proper path. Therefore, the quotation that best develops this idea is:

“…the two pilgrims successfully resist Flatterer, who tries

to trap them with a net, and Atheist, who tries to convince them that the

Celestial City does not exist.”

How did Odysseus react to Thersities mockery of king Agamemnon?
pochemuha

Answer:

He is upset.

Explanation:

Odysseus argues that Thersites is a peasant who has no right to speak out against kings and nobility. Odysseus goes on to say that Thersites lacks personal pride and respect since he refuses to battle. Furthermore, Thersites' lack of dignity is symbolized by his malformed look. Odysseus finishes his attack by smacking Thersites across the back with his scepter, creating a welt and tears to pour. All thought of Thersites coming home is put to rest after this public humiliation and branding. Soldiers must battle for pride and dignity. Only the mentally and physically deformed would argue differently.
