• One most important factor that has resulted in this increase in the average temperature is the rapidly increasing emission of the greenhouse gases.

• Indiana has stayed in the list of the top 10 states that produce half of the United States total greenhouse gases.

• Gradual and consistent degradation of the environment due to the greenhouse gases has culminated in frequent flooding and rapid melting of the ice sheets on the Great Lakes.
