These statements was made by Richard Rodriguez, who is a American from Mexican parents. He said that he live all his life in the U.S., in San Francisco, which has tons of Chinese people, so he asseverates that he feels Chinese, because since many years he live in a context where most of the people is Chinese.

So, this doesn't mean that Rodriguez lost his culture, in fact, he said that he is in his culture, the only one he knows, because he never lived in Mexico.
