Good morning!

Like most of the populations that immigrated to the United States, the Chinese faced precarious conditions. They had already come from a country in crisis, and when they reached the Bay of San Francisco, they were faced with segregation (they had to live in their own isolated neighborhoods) and the job vacancies were only for the heavier ones, which required more physical training, Installation of railways and the search for gold.

Hugs!

What does Jefferson think is a greater danger in a republic the rebelling?
lara [203]

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

Both of Jefferson’s famous quotes about Shays’ Rebellion are still frequently cited by people who are “mad as hell” about something the government has done.

Today, relatively few people actually believe that the sentiments Jefferson expressed should be interpreted and acted out literally, through a violent revolution.
