In the crisis of confidence speech, He hoped to tell the public about the cause of the current problems facing the country. The country had economic challenges and issues in the energy sector. He then related these issues with moral and religious issues of the people being the cause of the problems facing the country.

The citizens lost confidence in him because he was trading blames instead of making attempts to fix it.This was why it was poorly received by the American public.

In WWII, the entertainment boosted support for the U.S to contribute in the fight against the Axis Powers. Soon to be famous Walt Disney became popular from supporting the war. He would illustrate cartoons (starring Mickey Mouse/Donald Duck), persuading the audience to buy war bonds and enlist/support the armed forces. Animations also included patriotism.
