1- The United States Constitution is written with no mention of political parties.

2- Alexander Hamilton and James Madison have different views about the power of the federal government.

3- The two-party system emerges with the creation of the Federalist and Democratic-Republican parties.

The diagram shows how American political parties emerged in response to the need of politicians of the time to create platforms to defend their convictions and ideals.
