An example of  a moral dilemma using direct characterization would be :

<span>Jake, brave, pitiful, and older than his years, gazed down at his starving family. His mother had passed on a few months ago, and her dying wish was that the family stay together. Jake knew the foster system; it was unlikely that they could all stay together, especially with his track record with the law. Yet, he knew that they would not survive long without more food and money. He felt torn between fulfilling his promise to his mother and that other promise he made, the promise to himself. He had vowed to change his life when his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Stealing would fulfill her promise (as long as he didn't get caught) but break the promise to himself that made him a new man. This new man cared for his siblings; what would happen to his family if he became a thief?

In what way does the following line from James Joyce's "Araby" contribute to the symbolism of the story?
slamgirl [31]

Answer:

I'd say the answer is choice C.

Explanation:

Given the provided information I'm assuming the narrator find Mangan's sister as a goal or an idol of sorts who they see hope wisdom and in this case, light. Light can be used as Mangan's sister's symbolism of great, or ideal.

When the narrator see's the sister he/she/they is reminded of light and goodness.

Hope this helps! ^^

After Juliet's body is found, Lord Capulet says these lines from act IV of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet
Lapatulllka [165]
Death is my son-in-law, Death is my heir; My daughter he hath wedded: I will die, And leave him all; life, living, all is Death's. How is the excerpt an example of dramatic irony? Capulet does not know that his true son-in-law is Romeo. Capulet expresses his grief by personifying death. Capulet is insulting Paris who would have been his son-in-law. Capulet does not know that Juliet is actually alive.
