In this diary entry from 1941, Joseph Goebbels expresses his belief that one of the motivating factors behind the Holocaust was that European Jews were responsible for causing the Second World War.

The Holocaust was a genocide during World War II in which Nazi Germany, supported by local collaborators, systematically killed some six million European Jews.

Germany carried out the persecution of the Jews indifferent  stages.
