Please help me Select the correct answer. Read this excerpt from “The Red Shoes” by Hans Christian Andersen. Which thesis statem

ent would best suit a literary analysis essay based on the excerpt? There was once a little girl who was very pretty and delicate, but in summer she was forced to run about with bare feet, she was so poor, and in winter wear very large wooden shoes, which made her little insteps quite red, and that looked so dangerous! In the middle of the village lived old Dame Shoemaker; she sat and sewed together, as well as she could, a little pair of shoes out of old red strips of cloth; they were very clumsy, but it was a kind thought. They were meant for the little girl. The little girl was called Karen. On the very day her mother was buried, Karen received the red shoes, and wore them for the first time. They were certainly not intended for mourning, but she had no others, and with stockingless feet she followed the poor straw coffin in them. Suddenly a large old carriage drove up, and a large old lady sat in it: she looked at the little girl, felt compassion for her, and then said to the clergyman: "Here, give me the little girl. I will adopt her!" And Karen believed all this happened on account of the red shoes, but the old lady thought they were horrible, and they were burnt. But Karen herself was cleanly and nicely dressed; she must learn to read and sew; and people said she was a nice little thing, but the looking-glass said: "Thou art more than nice, thou art beautiful!" A. In “The Red Shoes,” the red shoes are very important in moving the plot of the story forward. B. “The Red Shoes” uses the symbol of the shoes to show that the value of an object differs from person to person. C. “The Red Shoes” is the story of a beautiful young girl and a pair of red shoes she receives from an old woman. D. “The Red Shoes” talks about how poor people can become lucky and rich unexpectedly. E. "The Red Shoes" deals with the struggles of a young girl and her life after being adopted.

Read the excerpt from "Elevator Systems of the Eiffel Tower, 1889" by Robert M. Vogel.
trapecia [35]

Answer:

I believe that the answer is C. In the decade following the Civil War, tall buildings had just begun to emerge; and, although the skylines of the world’s great cities were still dominated by church spires, there was increasing activity in the development of elevator apparatus adapted to the transportation of people as well as of merchandise.

Step-by-step explanation:

This is because, the whole text is about the elevator and its development throughout the years. This paragraph explains the development of the elevator, its possible purpose, and the time frame in which it took place. This sentence seems to sum up the text better than the other options.

Hope this helps! :)
