Supporters of Prohibition, such as preacher Billy Sunday, expected that Prohibition would encourage people to fix the problems of the society.

Further Explanations:

Billy Sunday was a most influential American evangelist of the United States born on 19th November 1862. He developed his skill of pulpit evangelist with his colloquial orations and frenetic delivery and was able to influence a large crowd of evangelist even before the invention of electronic sound channel.

Billy was a rugged defender of Prohibition and played an influential role in the enforcement of the Eighteenth Amendment Act of 1919. He believed that prohibition would motivate people to become religious and put them away from liquor which in other term will fix the issues of society. He also believed that prohibition will reduce the violent crimes that were taking place at that time. Billy was not separatist as he never criticized the Roman Catholic and even had a meeting with Cardinal Gibbons during his Baltimore campaign of 1916.

Billy claimed himself to be an Old fashioned Preacher and his orations always speak of personal God, moral lessons and attainment of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Supporters of the Prohibition, such as the preacher Billy Sunday, expected that the Prohibition would encourage people to become religious, decrease the violent crime rate, fix the problems of society, and put the liquor distillers out of business. Widespread religious fervor and religious revival were central features of the Prohibition era. Preachers announced that the millennium was coming soon and, as a result, people stopped drinking hard spirits and attempted to live a life of perfection. This in turn, decreased the violent crime rate and attempted to fix the problems of society.

Aleks [24]

Answer:

Baron de Montesquieu (1689 – 1755) was a French judge and philosopher, famous for his theory of separation of powers and his implementation of the despotism in the political world.

In 1748, he wrote and anonymously published The Spirit of the Laws, a treatise on political theory, which influenced the Founding Fathers in the United States Constitution.

Explanation:

Early American society accepted his idea of the separation of powers in drafting the Constitution.

Montesquieu based his views on the idea of separating authority into the tree branches: executive, legislative and judicial, which were included in the Constitution to establish laws and duties and to include the provisions to preserve individual liberties.
