Supporters of Prohibition, such as preacher Billy Sunday, expected that Prohibition would encourage people to fix the problems of the society.

Further Explanations:

Billy Sunday was a most influential American evangelist of the United States born on 19th November 1862. He developed his skill of pulpit evangelist with his colloquial orations and frenetic delivery and was able to influence a large crowd of evangelist even before the invention of electronic sound channel.

Billy was a rugged defender of Prohibition and played an influential role in the enforcement of the Eighteenth Amendment Act of 1919. He believed that prohibition would motivate people to become religious and put them away from liquor which in other term will fix the issues of society. He also believed that prohibition will reduce the violent crimes that were taking place at that time. Billy was not separatist as he never criticized the Roman Catholic and even had a meeting with Cardinal Gibbons during his Baltimore campaign of 1916.

Billy claimed himself to be an Old fashioned Preacher and his orations always speak of personal God, moral lessons and attainment of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Supporters of the Prohibition, such as the preacher Billy Sunday, expected that the Prohibition would encourage people to become religious, decrease the violent crime rate, fix the problems of society, and put the liquor distillers out of business. Widespread religious fervor and religious revival were central features of the Prohibition era. Preachers announced that the millennium was coming soon and, as a result, people stopped drinking hard spirits and attempted to live a life of perfection. This in turn, decreased the violent crime rate and attempted to fix the problems of society.

What happened after Isabella decided to marry Ferdinand without her brother's consent
jolli1 [7]

Answer:

Her marriage angered her brother Henry IV who denied her the right to the crown of Castille and willed it to his daughter Joanna.

Explanation:

Isabella I who was the half-sister to Henry IV was betrothed in marriage to Ferdinand II of Aragorn at a very tender age. However, when Henry fell out with John II of Navarre, the father of Ferdinand, he decided to marry off his sister to another Prince. This led to a long series of deliberations and changes in the men who were being considered for marriage with Isabella.

At the age of 18, Isabella made the decision to marry Ferdinand even though they were First cousins. They married secretly even obtaining fake approval from the Pope. After this, they eloped. On finding out about the marriage, Henry IV was enraged and withdrew from Isabella, the right to the Crown of Castille, and gave it to his daughter Joanna. When he died five years later, Isabella returned to the Kingdom to claim her right to the crown.

Which of the following did NOT rise in the United States during the 1950s? *
Nonamiya [84]

The correct answer is average age of marriage

The 50's, or “Golden Years” became known as the time of transitions. The change in the profile of society was due to the fact of the growing economic prosperity experienced by the United States (and some other countries) with the end of the Second World War, which created a feeling of optimism and hope for everyone.

This period was marked by important political conflicts, such as the Cold War, in addition to numerous technological, communicational and, mainly, scientific advances. It was during the 1950s that the space race between the USA and the USSR took place, which resulted in the arrival of man on the moon for the first time.
