Jim lost his job to a robot in a car assembly factory, so he is Structurally unemployed.

Structural unemployment is caused by the introduction of new technologies that replaces the need of workers to do the job.

As the robot takes over the job of Jim, the technology replaced him and he gets unemployed.

No doubt, this change is in the favor of the company who replaced the work of one or more employees with a single robot, but this change will result in the increase of unemployment in the economy.

Answer: Structurally unemployed

              Unemployed

Unemployment refers to a situation of not having a job currently, but actively looking for a job.

Since Jim doesn't have a  job currently, we can say that he is unemployed.

Structural unemployment occurs when people lose their jobs with the advent and introduction of new technologies and procedures that render their skills irrelevant and outdated.

Since Jim lost his job to a robot in a car assembly line, we can say that he is structurally unemployed.
