The original price of the shorts was $22.50. I used the calculator and started multiplying numbers by .80 (80%) until I multiplied 22.50 x .80 and it equaled 18. Basically you have to divide the percentage that the problem gives you, in this case 20, by 100 (20/100 = .20). Then find how much it lacks to have 100 (in this case it is 80), when you divide that by 100, you are left with .80. You then start to multiply that by numbers until you get your answer. I'm sure that there is a much simpler way to answer this math problem but this is the only way I can think right now of solving it. I hope this helps you!!

2y-x=6 and y=2x+7 graphed equals how many solutions
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

One solution

<em>BRAINLIEST, PLEASE!</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

2y - x = 6

2y = x + 6

y = x/2 + 3

y = 2x + 7

After graphing, they have one solution at (-2.667, 1.667).

Write the equation of the sphere in standard form. x^2 + y^2 + z^2 + 2x − 4y − 6z = 22
madam [21]

The equation x^{2} +y^{2} +z^{2} +2x-4y-6z=22  in standard form looks like (x+1)^{2} +(y-2)^{2} +(z-3)^{2} =(6)^{2}.

Given equation of sphere be x^{2} +y^{2} +z^{2} +2x-4y-6z=22.

We are required to express the given equation in the standard form of the equation of sphere.

Equation is basically relationship between two or more variables that are expressed in equal to form. Equation of two variables look like ax+by=c. It may be linear equation,quadratic equation, cubic equation or many more depending on the powers of variables. The standard form of the equation of sphere looks like  x^{2} +y^{2} +z^{2} =r^{2}.

The given equation is x^{2} +y^{2} +z^{2} +2x-4y-6z=22.

We have to break 22 which is in right side into various parts according to the left side of the equation.

x^{2} +y^{2} +z^{2} +2x-4y-6z=-1-4-9+36

x^{2} +y^{2} +z^{2} +2x-4y-6z+1+4+9=36

x^{2} +1+2x+y^{2}+4-4y+z^{2} +9-6z=36

x^{2} +(1)^{2} +2*1*x+y^{2} +(2)^{2} -2*2y+z^{2} +(3)^{2} -2*3z=36

(x+1)^{2} +(y-2)^{2} +(z-3)^{2} =(6)^{2}

Hence the equation x^{2} +y^{2} +z^{2} +2x-4y-6z=22  in standard form looks like (x+1)^{2} +(y-2)^{2} +(z-3)^{2} =(6)^{2}.

1. Given the points (-2,4) and (4, -2), find the midpoint between these points.
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

(1,1)

Step-by-step explanation:

M=(x1+x2 / 2 , y1+y2 / 2)

M=(-2+4 / 2 , 4+ -2 / 2)

M=(2 / 2 , 2 / 2)

M=(1,1)
