11) Empty is describing cabin and small is describing meadow.

12) Rapid is describing river and muddy is describing the banks.

13) Hungry and weary both describe the hikers.

14) Ancient is describing the bridge and deep is describing the water.

15) Remote and lonely are both describing the place.

16) Correct is describing the path, and it is also described as not being clear.

17) Smart and practical describe the hiker, and warm describes the fire.

18) The person is described as 'other' and the map is described as large.

19) Small is describing the compass and extra describes the food.

20) Fresh describes the water and clear describes their course home.

These are all the adjectives in the paragraph in exercise C: New, last, unlucky, easy, smooth, barely (barely is an adverb but I'm assuming it counts in this exercise because it says one sentence has more than one adjective and none of the other sentences have anything else.).

Little Dorrit Charles Dickens Read the following excerpt from the novel: Chapter 1: Sun and Shadow Thirty years ago, Marseilles
Phoenix [80]

"Descendants from all the builders of Babel, come to trade at Marseilles, sought the shade alike—taking refuge in any hiding-place from a sea too intensely blue to be looked at, and a sky of purple, set with one great flaming jewel of fire"

In this line you can see Marseilles as a place were people suffers. A place too hot to even stare at things as the sun reflection blinds you. The only thing that merely conforts them is seeking for shadow. By the term Babel we know that everyone is form a different place and speak different languages making comunication very difficult. It seems as a place were no one wants to be more than necessary . The sun is described as great flaming jewel of fire, meaning it is extremely hot in there. As you can realize, it is not possible to be confortable in a place like that. As you read you even fell inconfortable.

Which type of sentence is this?
lesya692 [45]

Answer:

simple

Explanation:

A simple sentence contains one independent clause with a subject and a predicate. Besides, it makes sense on its own and does not possess any dependent clauses. Thus, even though the subject Joe King is followed by an appositive phrase which identifies him -an engineering professor from California- the sentence still has one single independent clause consisting of a subject and a predicate.

Refer to Explorations in Literature for a complete version of this story.
Margaret [11]
Even though I haven't read the story, based on textual clues in these sentences I would say the correct answer is B. “The waiting man pulled out a handsome watch, the lids of it set with small diamonds.”
The reason why is that you can't really have a watch lined with diamonds unless you've worked really hard to get it. This man has hustled his whole life and in the end, he has done well for himself in life, which is evident by his expensive watch.
