What was the most significant argument of the anti federalists?

History
1 answer:
GaryK [48]3 years ago
4 0

The opposition to federalism had several axes, such as opposition to the constitution, since it was thought that the strong power of the national government could mean a threat to the sovereignty of states, localities and individuals, which could be interpreted as an attempt to disguise a "monarchical" power. Some antifederalists thought that the articles of the confederation gave quite enough power to the central government, while others considered that, although the national government with the articles wasn't that strong, with the Constitution it would be too powerful.

When World War I was beginning in Europe, the United States was trading profitably with
Ne4ueva [31]

Answer:

Great Britain

Explanation:

At the beginning of the Great War, the United States were trading with Great Britain.  Eventually the United States said that they wouldn't help any belligerent in the war, but still somewhat discreetly traded with Great Britain and gave them weapons.  It wasn't until I believe the Zimmerman Telegram that was supposedly sent from Germany to Mexico where Germany was asking Mexico to go to war with the United States to reclaim their lost land and stall any United States advance into Europe, that the United States got involved in the war.  The Zimmerman Telegram is a widely disputed issue in the realm of WW1.  As for your original question though, I believe the correct answer is they were trading profitably with Great Britain.  Hope this helped!

xxMikexx [17]
Neither one of the sides were fruitful in getting through the resistance of the other and bringing about a stalemate. Trench fighting developed due the disappointment of the Schliffen Plan. It was another arrangement of fighting which was an immediate reason for the stalemate, and this is the reason. It was an arrangement of resistance not offense.
