The idea of controlling humans through biological engineering is a dystopian view of the future. "Dystopia" is the opposite of "utopia" and it refers to a society in which things are a lot worse than in ours. Most of the time, it refers to a future authoritarian and cruel society. This belongs to the genre of science fiction because in order to become real, technology would have to be developed further. However, most of the time these scenarios are not completely impossible, and therefore, often serve as a cautionary tale for the present.
