Reconstruction era began after the Civil War in America. With the end of the Civil War, the Southern Economy was in shattered with its currency invaluable, bankruptcy, fields with weeds. The main goal was to try to correct the issue of Southern states' politics, economic, and social, along with slavery. But some politicians wanted to punish Southern states by implementing strict laws. These politicians turn out to be Radical Republicans who wanted to punish the South for the war. They also wanted the new governments in the southern states to support the Republican Party and ensure loyalty in the future.
