Answer:

If I compare the French and Spanish who came to this new world, I would say they were aggressive on taking the new land known as America. When the French came down they had no mercy whatsoever on the villagers and well being on the people who lived there. They killed people and claimed parts of North America such as Canada, Virgin Islands, or Haiti. When the Spanish came down they came down towards the south and as we all know him Ponce de Leon was one who found Florid to find the fountain of youth. Now the French and Spanish are different in a way where the Spanish was more calm and taking the land but the French was crazy about saying mine mine mine. If the Spanish went crazy mode it would have been when they conquered Mexico and Central America then wiped the Aztec, Incan, and Mayan race out sadly.

Answer:

The Spanish and French explorers both came to the New World in search of wealth. They also came to claim land for their countries and establish colonies in the New World. However, the Spanish forcefully took land and wealth by warring against the Native American tribes who resisted them. On the other hand, the French did not use force and violence. They traded with the Native American tribes, hunted the wildlife, and tried to find a northwest route to Asia.

How do you think the perspectives of the Europeans and the Taino people would vary?
ruslelena [56]
I think that they would vary because the Taino people ate, dressed, looked, and had a different lifestyle than the Europeans. Also the Europeans may say that what they are doing is exploring or looking for India. While the Taino will say that they are taking over their land and rights. Also the way that they ate things such as potatoes may differ. There were different perspectives that the Europeans had about the Taino and vice versa. You can relate to this somewhat by thinking you went exploring and come across this area of land where people are and you decide to explore it. You find that these people are different from you and that you are different from them from the way they look to the way they eat. You think that what your lifestyle is correct while the other people think theirs is correct. That is somewhat similar to the Europeans and Taino.

Hope this helps!
