Belle Boyd was a notable Confederate spy during the Civil War who worked out of a hotel in Virginia on behalf of General Stonewall Jackson.

Boyd worked out her family hotel, where Union officers stayed, and listened via keyholes and reported back to the Confederate Officers what the Union officers were saying.
