Two different pieces of evidence a scientist might study to better understand evolutionary change include FOSSILS  and BIO GEOGRAPHICAL STUDY.

Evolution is the process that occurs in the whole population. It is not restricted to individuals. In this process, certain changes in heritable traits are passed on from one generation to another generation. Migration and mutation leads to evolution.
