6) I believe the sections main idea was all about freedom and equality among the men on the ship. I think the author's point about that section was to tell the truth about the life of a pirate ( or atleast that what's comes to mind ).
8) 3 ways Barry overcame problems/setbacks: Research -  Barry used the maps he recovered from the captain in 1717 to study and narrow down a search location. Permission - He was able to get enough info to win permission to begin his search, which then attracted investors. Money - his exciting story attracted wealthy investors who helped pay for the search efforts.
9) In my opinion, I believe that Yes, if you find something like a pirate treasure, which obviously can't be returned to it's rightful owner, then the new discoverer should take responsibility for it. In other words, "Finder's Keepers!"
