"The Lagoon" is a short story written by Polish-British writer Joseph Conrad that was first published on January 1897. It tells the story of a white man known as Tuan who travels through an Indonesian rain forest where he meets a Malay man called Arsat. when Tuan meets Arsat, Arsat tell him his story, as he is distraught over his lover, Diamelen, is severely sick and about to die. Arsat is looking for medicine that will help Diamelen.
