Sampson starts the fight. He first antagonizes Abram and the other servant when he bites his thumb. This then turns into a verbal quarrel and leads to them drawing swords.

Benvolio draws his sword to try and stop the two groups from fighting. It is here he says one of his most famous lines "Part fools!/Put up your swords. You know not what you do!"

Tybalt hates Benvolio. His reaction to the Montagues is one of his most famous lines: "peace? I hate the word,/As I hate hell, all Montagues, and ythee."

When Lord Capulet calls for a sword, Lady Capulet says that he actually needs a crutch.

The Prince is angry because he is tired of the Montagues and Capulets disturbing the peace and fighting in the streets. He says that their continued fighting is unacceptable and he will no longer put up with it.

To solve the problem of the feud, he warns them that the next time there is any fighting that they will pay with their lives. He specifically says, "If ever you disturb our streets again, /Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace."

Benvolio doesn't approach Romeo in the sycamores because he felt that Romeo wanted to be alone. When Romeo saw Benvolio beginning to approach him, Romeo went and hid in the trees. Benvolio took this to mean that Romeo did not want Benvolio to follow him, so Benvolio thought it best to give him some privacy.

Lady Montague thinks that Romeo is avoiding the sun. She says that he goes out in the dark at night and then comes home when it's light and shuts himself up in his room.

Romeo says that love is supposed to be blind but that instead makes people do whatever it wants. He goes on to talk about how cruel love is.

The girl Romeo loves is unattainable because she has decided to take a vow of chastity. She is choosing never to be in love, not just with Romeo, but with no one.

Romeo says that future generations suffers because of her vow of chastity. She will never have children and therefore her beauty will be lost forever.

Benvolio tells Romeo to stop thinking about her by looking at other girls. He says, "Examine other beauties."

Romeo does not think the advice will work because he will just compare the other girls to Rosaline. This will not keep him from thinking about her.

So lets break this down, we need to find the Genre, and the Subgenre.

Since dogs and cats are realistic, we immediately know this is non-fiction. Therefore, the genre is Non-Fiction

To find the sub-genre, we will analyze the text by taking key point:

"<u>Compares and contrasts</u> dogs and cats"

"Provides a lot of <u>information</u> about both"

We underlined the keywords, now we know that this is an informational piece.

Therefore, the sub-genre is informative.

Hope this helps!
