Age is the x values and height is the y values. In order to be a function, there can be no repeating x values...they all have to be different. You can have repeating y values, just not the x ones. So look at all the x columns (ages) and u will notice that the only one that does not have any repeating x values is Hal's results....no x's are the same and it is therefore, a function.

Answer: Hal

Step-by-step explanation:

A relation from a set of inputs to a set of possible outputs where each input is related to exactly one output is called function.

From the given tables, we can see that only Hal's data can height be considered a function of age because each height is is output for exact one input. No two ages have same height.

Only data represented by Hal can be said a function.

In Zelda's results

For age 12 there are two heights, 63 an d64

In Maya's results

For age 12 there are more than one heights.

In Jason's results

For age 12 there are two heights,50 and 57

Thus they cannot be said a function.

KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that in 1987, the population of country A was estimated at 87 million people, with an annual growth rate of 3.5%

Thus the equation for population for country A would be

P(A) = 87e^{0.035t}

The 1987 population of country B was estimated at 243 million with an annual growth rate of 0.6%.

So equation for population for country B would be

P(B) = 243e^{0.006t} where t = time in years and P in millions

a) P(A) = 2*87 when

2=e^{0.035t}

Take log and solve

ln 2 = 0.005 t

t = 138.63

Thus after 138 years population will double for A

b) P(A) = P(B) when

P(A) = 87e^{0.035t}=P(B) = 243e^{0.006t}\\e^{0.035t-0.006t}=\frac{243}{87} =2.793\\0.029t = 1.027\\t= 35.42

Approximately after 35.5 years the populations of both countries would be equal.

Two cylinders are similar. The surface area of one is 49 cm ^ 2 , and the surface area of the other is 121 cm ^ 2 . Find the sca
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

7 : 17.29

Step-by-step explanation:

==>Given:

Two similar cylinders:

Surface area of Cylinder A = 49cm²

Surface area of Cylinder B = 121cm²

==>Required:

Scale factor between both cylinders

==>Solution:

We can easily get the scale factor between both by taking the following steps:

=>Set up a ratio of their surface area:

Smaller cone surface area : larger cone surface area

49:121

= 49/121

=>Simplify the ratio gotten:

Dividing the denominator and the numerator by 7, would give us,

7/17.29

= 7:17.29
