Answer:

Nick notices that Gatsby has ceased hosting parties, and has fired all of his servants. (letter C)

Explanation:

"The Great Gatsby" is a novel by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald narrated by the character Nick.

Nick is caught between the lives and affairs of his relatives and his neighbor, Gatsby. As a matter of fact, Gatsby and Nick's cousin, Daisy, had fallen in love 5 years prior to the beginning of the story. Now, in a desperate effort to draw Daisy's attention to himself, Gatsby is throwing grand parties, hoping that one day she will walk through his mansion's door. After Gatsby left for the war, Daisy ended up marrying Tom. Still, Gatsby wants her back, and believes they can start over as if nothing had ever separated them.

With Nick's help, Gatsby and Daisy finally meet again. They soon begin to have an affair, which leads Gatsby to fire all his servants and to cease hosting those parties. Now, he wants his life with Daisy to be surrounded by secrecy, for her protection. He only keeps Nick and some loyal servants around, so that no word of their affair is ever uttered to anyone, especially Tom.
