The Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA) was part of the New Deal program established by President Franklin D: Roosevelt that had the aim to impulse prices from agriculture goods, by reducing surpluses. The federal government made the decision to paid farmers subsidies for not sedding their lands. Another action of the federal government was that it bought livestock and slaughtered. So it's true that the Agricultural Adjustment Act helped the farmers in that it stopped production to avoid surplus.
