An Independent Clause, expresses a complete thought and can stand alone as a sentence.

There are two types of clauses dependent and independent clauses. Dependent clauses make sentences more interesting, but they cannot stand as sentences. They are very useful to complete sentences, but it has to be joined to another clause. Independent clauses can stand alone as sentences. They express a complete idea. They have a subject, an action, and they are complete sentences.

An author can express his opinion or feelings in text by writing about it (book, essay, etc.) and have the main character carry those thoughts. If writing an essay, he can have the main points evolve around his feelings and opinion and show why the other ideas aren't as good as his. I hope this helps:) Do your best:)<span />
