The precipitations varies a lot from year to year, and it can be anywhere from 250 to 750 mm. The landscape is dominated by a valley, naturally being a grassland, but now heavily used for agriculture, mostly wine trees. The eastern side is bordered by a mountain of slightly over 1,000 m, while the southern part is bordered by a volcanic plateau. The population is slightly more than 20,000, and it has been like that for around two decades now. The main reason why there haven't been significant changes is that the birthrates have dropped, while the life expectancy has increased, so the population is gradually aging.
